
Democratic rights and freedoms are being challenged all over the world. The civil society is not an exception. The democratic space of civil society organizations is shrinking. This situation can be seen in human rights crisis in the Philippines. There has been many attacks and attempt to curbe the freedom of civil society. There has been new laws aimed at regulating the freedom of civil society as well as attacks at free elections.
Despite all of this we see a vibrant young civil society that work to expand the space of civil society in the Philippines. The youth movement in the Philippines work everyday to promote human rights and democracy.
